More About Abelina...
My journey as a psychologist began in 2016 working with young people in an early psychosis program –
an experience that shaped my commitment to trauma-informed care.
Since 2022, I have worked exclusively in private practice, where I now focus primarily on supporting adults
who are seeking growth, emotional wellbeing, and an overall deeper understanding of themselves
so that they can navigate life with a little more ease.
As a trauma-informed somatic-based psychologist, my intention is to offer a warm, compassionate, collaborative,
curious, and empowering space for clients to process their experiences and feelings
from a sense of safety and openness to their body and sensations.
You may find that sessions with me do not only involve "talk therapy"
but also a journey into the unconscious aspects within yourself (to help understand the root causes of your experiences), while interweaving the importance of bringing awareness to the body, sensations, and emotions in the present moment so that they can be processed and integrated safely – a crucial part when it comes to trauma therapy.
On a more personal level, my own yoga practice and journey of completing my yoga teacher training in 2025
are values I hope to bring to the therapy space by providing a safe, grounded, and open-hearted presence for clients.
I enjoy bringing spiritual perspectives and ideas around sense of purpose into sessions
when and where it is appropriate and feels guided by you as the client...
